Alastair Swift
, Head of Corporate Risk & Broking GB, Willis Towers Watson (Opening Remarks) 

Alastair Swift leads Corporate Risk and Broking for Great Britain (GB) at Willis Towers Watson. He is also Global & GB Head of Transportation Lines and GB Head of Property & Casualty.

Previously, Alistair Swift was the Global Head of the Transportation Industry practice and has also held roles as the Chief Executive Officer of Global Placement for Willis Group, where he was responsible for the Group’s placement strategy & insurance market relations.

Before joining the Willis Group, Alastair set up BSK LLP, in conjunction with two other partners building a North American Property group which grew under his leadership to handle in excess of $150 million of premium annually prior to its purchase by Willis in 2009.

He had previously been the Partner in charge of the entire North American Wholesale Property Department of Jardine Lloyd Thompson, which focused on large complex property programs. He started his career at Lloyd Thompson in 1990.

Steven DeCarlo
Chief Executive Officer, AmWINS Group, Inc.

M. Steven DeCarlo is chief executive officer of AmWINS Group, Inc., a global specialty insurance distributor with more than 3,600 employees globally. AmWINS handles over $11.1 billion in premium and is ranked the largest wholesale insurance broker in the U.S. by Business Insurance magazine. 

Steve began his career in 1980 with Crum & Forster and later joined The London Agency as its chief financial officer. In 1988, he was a founding partner of Royal Specialty Underwriting (RSUI), serving as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Ten years later, he became senior vice president of what was then RSUI’s parent company, Royal & Sun Alliance USA. Steve joined AmWINS in December 2000, leading the business through the merger of several leading specialty wholesalers. In 2009, he received Ernst & Young LLC's prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year® award in the Carolinas for the financial services category.

Charles Franks
Group Chief Executive Officer, Tokio Marine Kiln Group

Charles Franks is Group Chief Executive Officer of Tokio Marine Kiln which was formed in 2014 following the integration of Lloyd’s specialist insurer Kiln and Tokio Marine Europe.

Prior to his current role, Charles was Chief Executive Officer of RJ Kiln, one of the largest managing agents in the Lloyd’s insurance market, a position he took over in 2007. A recognised leader with 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, he led the successful integration of Kiln into the Tokio Marine Group following its acquisition in 2008. Charles joined Kiln in 1993 as Deputy Active Underwriter of the Marine Syndicate 123 and was appointed as a Director of R J Kiln in 1995, before becoming Active Underwriter of the Marine division in 2001. He previously held posts with CW Rome and Sedgwick Group.

Charles is an Executive Officer of Tokio Marine Holdings and a non-executive Director on the Lloyd's Franchise Board.

Dinos Iordanou, Chairman & CEO, Arch Capital

Constantine Iordanou is the Chairman of the Board of Arch Capital Group Ltd. and its Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Arch as one of its founders, Mr. Iordanou held senior executive positions with American International Group, Berkshire Hathaway and Zurich Financial Services and currently serves as a director of Verisk Analytics, Inc. (formerly ISO Inc.). 

During his 39 years in the insurance business, he has held leadership positions with industry associations serving as the past Chairman of the American Insurance Association (AIA) and Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR). 

Mr. Iordanou is married to Marianne and they have three children. Mr. and Mrs. Iordanou have dedicated their charitable activities to education serving as trustees at the Holy Child Academy, Our Lady of Mercy Academy, Roosevelt University and the College of Insurance. 

As an ethnic Greek Cypriot, Mr. Iordanou was a founding member and one of seven lifetime trustees of the Pancyprian Association of America, established in 1975. He is also a founding member of FAITH, a charitable organization dedicated to the advancement of Greek Americans through education. 

He holds an Aerospace Engineering degree from New York University.

Mike McGavick, Chief Executive Officer, XL Group ltd 

Since 2008, Mike McGavick has served as chief executive officer of XL Group plc, the parent company of the XL Catlin insurance and reinsurance companies.

Mike’s numerous recognitions for his leadership within the insurance industry include: Insurance Day’s Industry Achiever of the Year, Insurance Leader of the Year by St. John’s University School of Risk Management, one of the top 100 Game Changers in the last hundred years of the insurance industry by Leaders Edge, the Bermuda Insurance Institute’s (Re)insurance Person of the Year, the Review Magazine’s Industry Personality of the Year and Reactions Magazine’s Insurance CEO of the Year, among others.

Mike is currently the Chairman of the Geneva Association and is a Director and Immediate Past Chairman of the Association of Bermuda Insurers & Reinsurers. He is on the board of the Global Reinsurance Forum, the American Insurance Association, the Insurance Information Institute and the International Insurance Society.

rom 2001 to 2005, Mike was chairman, president and CEO of Safeco Corporation. Prior to joining Safeco, Mike spent six years with CNA Financial Corporation, where he held various senior positions, including president and CEO of the company's largest commercial insurance unit.

Mike has been involved in a number of industry, political, public affairs and community service activities. He was the founding chairperson of the Business Partnership for Early Learning and is also on the board of Landesa, a nonprofit organization that helps the rural poor around the globe obtain land rights. He was named the Puget Sound Business Journal's Executive of the Year in 2003 and was the 2005 winner of the prestigious Charles E. Odegaard award for his efforts in promoting diversity at the University of Washington. He is a former chief of staff in the United States Senate and ran for the US Senate in the State of Washington.

Mike is also a founding member of the Washington D.C.-based old boys’ rugby club, the Wild Geese RFC.

David Page, Senior Economist, AXA Investment Managers

David is a Senior Economist within AXA IM’s Research and Investment Strategy team and is responsible for providing macroeconomic and market analysis, focusing on the UK and US economies.

Prior to joining AXA IM in 2014, David had spent nearly four years with Lloyds Banking Group where he worked as the primary fixed income macroeconomist, with specific emphasis on the UK. Before that, David spent 10 years with Investec, working most recently in the Securities team, providing macroeconomic advice for the Group, specialising in UK and European affairs.

He started his career in the Government Economic Service in 1996, working most recently for the Debt Management Office, having initially joined in the Office of Electricity Regulation.
