Nicolas Aubert
Head of Great Britain, Willis Towers Watson
(Opening remarks)

Mr. Aubert has served as the Head of Great Britain at Willis Towers Watson since January 4, 2016 and he also serves as the CEO of Willis Limited, the legal entity covering UK based activities from legacy Willis. Previously, Mr. Aubert served as CEO of Willis GB, the operating segment of Willis Group Holdings that included Willis’ London specialty businesses and the retail insurance business in Great Britain since January 2015. 

Since March 2016, Mr. Aubert also serves as the Chairman of the London Market Group (LMG), professional body, which speaks collectively for all market practitioners (Lloyd’s of London, IUA, LIIBA and LMA).

Prior to joining Willis, Mr. Aubert served as the Chief Operating Officer of American International Group (AIG) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and formerly as the Managing Director of AIG in the UK. After joining AIG in June 2002 to lead AIG France, Mr. Aubert served in various other senior management positions, including Managing Director of Southern Europe, where he oversaw operations in 12 countries, including Israel.

Prior to AIG, Mr. Aubert worked in various leadership positions at ACE, CIGNA, GAN and started his career at GENERALI. He holds specialized Masters Degrees in Insurance Law (DESS Assurances) from Pantheon-Sorbonne University of Paris and from Institut des Assurances de Paris (Universite Paris-Dauphine) and an M.B.A. from the French High Insurance Studies Center (CHEA).


Franz Josef Hahn
Chief Executive Officer, Peak Re

Mr. Franz Josef Hahn is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Peak Re. With 30 years of reinsurance industry experience, Mr. Hahn has successfully helped building and shaping the reinsurance business in the Greater China and Asia Pacific region.

Prior to founding Peak Re, Mr. Hahn was the Managing Partner of FJ Hahn & Associates, offering strategic business advisory services to insurance companies and other financial institutions across the globe.

Mr. Hahn was the Managing Director of Swiss Re’s Greater China region between 1997 and 2008, and before that, he spent nine years at Munich Re, six years of which as Head of Casualty in Hong Kong.

Before launching his reinsurance career, he started his earlier years as a lawyer.


David Howden
Chief Executive Officer, Hyperion

David is CEO of international insurance group, Hyperion, which comprises broking divisions Howden and RKH, and underwriting division DUAL. He also oversees the activities of the Group’s international broking network as CEO of Howden.

Since he founded Hyperion in 1994 David has been the driving force behind its expansion. His focus is on building the Group’s enviable international distribution network, as well as shaping and implementing its development and direction. David has grown the business from three people in a small office in London to what is today a truly international group with over 3,800 people in 38 countries across Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, the USA, and Latin America.

Hyperion featured in the 2017 Sunday Times International Track 200, for the sixth year running, as one of the UK’s private companies with the fastest growing international sales, as well as the Top Track 250, which ranks Britain’s private mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales. Hyperion’s growth has come from a combination of market-leading organic growth and strategic acquisitions of leading entrepreneurial and specialist brokers and MGAs.

David has over 30 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s and London overseas markets, having started his career as an insurance broker at Alexander Howden in 1981.


Kevin H. Kelley
Chief Executive Officer, Ironshore Inc.

Kevin H. Kelley is Chief Executive Officer of Ironshore Inc., a Liberty Mutual company. Under his leadership, Mr. Kelley has expanded Ironshore's international presence with a network of offices offering diverse, specialty insurance coverages throughout its global platform.

Mr. Kelley joined Ironshore in 2008 following his professional tenure at AIG's Lexington Insurance Company, where he is credited with building it into a leading excess and surplus lines insurance company.

Mr. Kelley served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Lexington Insurance Company from 1997 to 2008. He was elected President and Chief Executive Officer in 1987, after having held a variety ofleadership roles within the company. In addition to his Chief Executive Officer role at Lexington, he was Executive Vice President of AIG Property Casualty Group and President of AIG Domestic Personal Lines. Mr. Kelley was also a Director of C.V. Starr & Company and Starr International Companies.

Mr. Kelley is a lifelong resident of New England, recognized for his dedication to community service for a range of state and area organizations and educational institutions. He is currently on the Board of Trustees of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center and Cardinal Spellman High School, which are located in the Boston area. He serves on the Board of Overseers ofWBUR and the Boston National Public Radio (NPR) station. In New York, he is Chairman of the Board of Overseers for St. John's University School of Risk Management. He is a member of the Board of Advisors for the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation in Boston and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Mr. Kelley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Boston University School of Management and holds a CPCU designation.


Matthew Moore
President and General Manager, Liberty Specialty Markets

Matthew Moore was appointed President and General Manager of Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) in August 2017. He is responsible for the leadership, long term strategy, continued profitability and future success of the operation. Before his appointment to his current position, Matthew was Group Chief Underwriting Officer for LSM with responsibility for underwriting performance and profitability across around fifty lines of business both in London and internationally.

Matthew joined Liberty Syndicate Management (Liberty Syndicates) in 2001 from Miller Insurance Group where he was an Associate Director broking political, trade credit and financial risks.

During his twelve years with Liberty Syndicates, Matthew developed expertise in political and financial risks and contingency leading political violence, terrorism, confiscation and government non-payment policies, with a portfolio ranging from Azerbaijan to Zambia.

He became Chief Underwriting Officer of Liberty Syndicates in 2009.

In 2013, Liberty Mutual Insurance Group created a new operation, Liberty Specialty Markets, by integrating the Company’s existing Lloyd’s Syndicate, Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe and US-based Liberty Mutual Reinsurance. Liberty Specialty Markets is composed of three business units: Commercial, Specialty and Reinsurance. Its underwriting and claims teams are focused on providing high levels of service to brokers and clients alike; along with implementing plans for writing additional business and extending our product range.

Matthew is an Executive Director of Liberty Specialty Markets and a member of the Lloyd’s Market Association Board.


Michael Reynolds
Global Chief Executive Officer, JLT Re 

Mike Reynolds joined JLT as Group Finance Director in November 2012 and became a member of the Group Executive Committee and Group Board. On 29th August 2014 he was appointed as Global Chief Executive Officer of JLT Re.  

Mike has worked in a number of senior finance roles in the insurance industry and joined JLT from ACE European Group Limited where he was Chief Financial Officer from 2009. Mike was previously CFO of Aon Benfield.
